I'm new to hi-fi and would like to build a budget, quality system around a Tripath amp (with a Super DAC Pro behind the scenes). I'd appreciate a little advice... I have my eye on the TA-10 amp, but I wonder how well it would work with 86dB speakers. I'd like to get a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 speakers, which seem to have had good reviews. I'm not intending to play music at deafening volumes, and the speakers will be located in a mid-size lounge. However, the Wharfedales are rated at 86dB, and I'm concerned that matching them with the TA-10 amp will negate the audiophile qualities of both components. Any thoughts?

Can someone please provide some input on the question above? I am in the same boat and have a pair of Usher S-520's which are 86db as well...This is for my studio apartment so it doesn't need to be super loud...Will the Trends amp be sufficient?

I've run low efficency speakers with the Trens with no issues at all for NORMAL listening levels - see the 6 Moons review of Unity Clearwater too - this combo is quite good.
